- Keep them free from dust
- Dust can cause blockages in an appliance that relies on a fan to keep it cool
- Make sure you have space around your appliance if it uses a fan or releases air
- Larger appliances like your refrigerator have requirements for space around them for them to work properly
- Poor ventilation around appliances can lead to overheating or breakdown or worse, permanent damage
- Only use appliances for their intended use
HOME OR OFFICE
- Replace damaged power points and frayed, damaged or perished power cords
- Repairs and safety checks should always be carried out by a licensed electrical contractor
- Never piggyback double adapters instead use a power board or arrange for additional power points to be installed
